Conf.: InterNational and InterDisciplinary Aspects of Scholarly Editing - Bern, 15. – 18.02.2012

This international symposium, jointly arranged by the “Arbeitsgemeinschaft für germanistische Edition”, the “European Society for Textual Scholarship”, the “Arbeitsgemeinschaft philosophischer Editionen”, the “Fachgruppe Freie Forschungsinstitute der Gesellschaft für Musikforschung”, and the Swiss National Archive for Literature will be held at the German Department of the University of Bern, from 15th to 18th February 2012. The topic of the colloquium is based on the observation that international cooperation in scholarly editing often has to cope with the fact that the participants are affected by scholarly traditions, theoretical and practical issues that have been developed in the intellectual and institutional environment of their original countries. In the context of plurilingual Switzerland, where the assortment of diverse philological traditions has always been effective, the iridescent state of national and international, disciplinary and interdisciplinary research in scholarly editing will be discussed.
